best of the best and … worst of the worst … on this blog

Here are the current champions of this website: the very best rated film/episode and the very worst. There are many one star and five star rating on this blog, so how do you know which are the best of the best and which are the worst of the worst? Because I say so here. Here is my Hall of Fame and Shame.

BEST OF THE BEST 

Annihilation (2018) is a nightmarish hallucination utterly unlike anything you’ve seen before,  a genre-defying science fiction-horror-thriller-psychological thriller-creature feature which shares genetic strands with Sphere, Event Horizon, Contact, and Cloverfield. Spectacular.

WORST OF THE WORST

Surrounded is also known as Frenzied (2018). A film so good they named it twice? No.  Some of the worst acting, special effects, editing, writing, and so on, that I have ever seen. One of those rare films that has nothing to recommend it. Even for a TV movie, this is dire stuff. It’s hard for a film to be quite this worthless. Abominable.
